Terms of Service — Acrely

By downloading or using Acrely ("the app"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

1. What the app does

Acrely measures land area, perimeter and distance from your iPhone, either by placing points on satellite imagery or by recording your position as you walk a boundary. It also estimates material quantities and costs from the area or length you measured and the rates you enter.

2. Measurements are estimates, not a survey

Acrely is not a legal land survey and must never be used to establish a property boundary, settle a dispute, or replace a licensed surveyor. Accuracy depends on things outside our control:

• Drawn on satellite imagery, your accuracy is the imagery's — how recent it is, how well it is aligned, and whether the ground is hidden under tree cover.
• Walked with GPS, a phone is typically accurate to a few metres in the open and considerably worse under trees, beside buildings or in a valley. The app shows this figure live and stores the worst reading with each measurement so you can judge it yourself.
• All areas are flat ground area. On sloping ground the actual surface is larger.

Material and cost figures are arithmetic on the numbers you enter and carry no allowance for waste, overlap or slope. Order a margin.

3. Subscriptions

Measuring is free. Acrely Pro adds unlimited saved measurements, export, the materials calculator and photos, and is billed through your Apple Account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends; manage or cancel them in your Apple Account settings. Any free trial period is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

4. Your data

Your measurements are stored on your device and are not uploaded to us. You are responsible for keeping your own copies — export anything you can't afford to lose. Deleting the app deletes its data. See the privacy policy.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to reverse-engineer the app or circumvent its subscription checks, and not to use it for anything unlawful — including trespass, or presenting its output as a certified survey.

6. Third-party services

The app relies on Apple Maps for maps and imagery, on Apple for payments, and on RevenueCat for subscription status. Their availability is outside our control, and features may be interrupted if they are unavailable.

7. No warranty, limitation of liability

The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for losses arising from decisions made on the basis of a measurement or an estimate produced by the app.

8. Changes and termination

We may update the app, these terms, or discontinue the service. Material changes will be reflected by the effective date above.
