How accurate is it?
Area is computed on the globe rather than on the flat map, so it stays correct at any latitude. What limits accuracy is the input: satellite imagery when you draw, and your phone's GPS when you walk. While recording, the app shows your live accuracy and stores the worst reading with the measurement, so you always know what you're looking at. It is not a legal survey.
Which is better, drawing or walking?
Draw when the imagery is clear and the boundary is visible — it's faster and usually more precise. Walk when the edge is under a tree line, when the imagery is out of date, or when the fence has moved since the photo was taken.
Why is my corner not exactly where I tapped?
Use the crosshair and the "Add point" button rather than tapping the map. A thumb tap lands where the thumb lands; the crosshair marks the exact centre of the screen. You can also drag any corner afterwards, or select it and tap "Move to crosshair".
Can I bring measurements from another app?
Yes. Export KML, GeoJSON or GPX from the app you're using now, then open the Saved tab in Acrely and tap the import button in the top-left. You'll see everything found in the file before anything is saved.
Can I get my measurements out?
Always. Export to KML, GeoJSON, CSV or GPX, or produce a one-page PDF report with the boundary drawn on satellite imagery. Nothing is locked in.
Does it work without a signal?
GPS itself works anywhere, so walking a boundary works with no signal at all. Map imagery needs a connection to load new areas.
What's free and what's paid?
Measuring is free — every mode, every unit, the live readout, for as long as you use the app. Acrely Pro keeps the work: unlimited saved measurements, export, the materials calculator and photos.
How do I cancel?
Open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Acrely. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Cancelling is handled by Apple, not by us.
I lost my measurements.
They live on your device only. If the app was deleted and reinstalled they are gone, which is why exporting is worth doing for anything important. Write to us if something looks wrong and we'll help.
