Point the camera at the fish — side-on, fins spread, the whole fish in frame — and tap the shutter. You can also pick an existing photo from your library. The AI names the species and tells you whether it is generally considered safe to eat, its habitat and typical size.
Try another photo: shoot the fish side-on in good light with its fins spread and the whole body in frame. When the AI isn't sure, it says so — treat a low-confidence result as unidentified, especially before eating anything.
It is informational, not food-safety advice. Never eat a fish based solely on an app identification. Some fish (like pufferfish) are poisonous however they're cooked, and some edible fish carry ciguatera or mercury in certain waters. Confirm with a qualified local source, check your regional consumption advisories, and when in doubt, release the fish.
Spots are found live from Apple Maps around the area you're viewing — allow location to centre the map on you and see distances. Bite times (Bitetime) are a solunar estimate computed on your device from sun and moon positions; conditions vary, so treat it as a guide, not a guarantee.
Subscriptions are billed by Apple and renew automatically. Manage or cancel in Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or use Restore in the app's About screen if you've already purchased on another device.
Your catches and log are stored only on your device — deleting the app removes them. Nothing personal is kept on our servers. Details in the privacy policy.
